The Body Fat Breakthrough: Tap the Muscle-Building Power of Negative Training and Lose Up to 30 Pounds in 30 days! Review: SO excited for the negative accentuated workouts! - Its funny because I debated buying this book for 3 days before I did because I figured there was maybe a little bit of good info in it. And to be honest I was kind of right but the little bit of new info I did get I was blown away by, that being the 30-30-30 routine. Now I have been on a weight loss journey for about 4 and a half months now, and I have lost almost 60 lbs. I have been eating a strict whole foods no sugar or refined sweeteners except in fruits and veggies type of diet (which to be honest is pretty similar to the diet suggested other than the tv dinners, and replacement shakes) and I have worked up to working out 6 days a week and running on an elliptical 6 days a week. I haven't hit a plateau so much as just getting disappointed with my current results. I am trying to get back to my normal weight (around 210) and I also want to look trim and cut and lately it seemed like It was going to be a very long road to get there. But after incorporating the negative accentuated routine into my workout and feeling how damn sore I am after just a test run....I am effin sold buddy. I am so excited for the results in 6 weeks or maybe even sooner. I will be bringing my workout days down to about 5 days (two days of 30-30-30, and 3 days of yoga) a week and I am going to try the cold shower and ice pack thing, as well as walking after dinner when I can make time, but suffice it to say I havent been this excited since I started my weight loss journey! The book itself was very informative on many things I simply didnt know about fat, the human body, thermodynamics, and what not and I really enjoyed them. I obviously loved the negative accentuated info, as well as other tips and tricks. I was a little confused as to how many sets I should do but after going through it again I assumed only 1 set of 30-30-30 per exercise should do it if you really are pushing yourself to the limit every time. Unlike everyone else I hadn't even heard of Ellington Darden till now but I am VERY happy I purchased this book. Finished it in one night and started using the info a few days later. Awesome stuff. I dont know why or how the others on here can leave anything less than 4 stars. Seems like some of them just didnt really want to change and expected some miracle cure for fat loss. Either way very satisfied customer here :) Review: Sane Science, Insane Results - This is a review of the Kindle Edition. The Body Fat Breakthrough is clearly written and well-organized. The editors have given the book a popular-level feel; one doesn't feel they're reading an overly dense and dry scientific journal. But make no mistake, this book is packed with information. If you read and digest this book, you'll be able to talk intelligently with most anyone on the subject of diet and exercise. You'll also laugh the next time you see the exercise methods used on shows like "The Biggest Loser". There's plenty of science through the middle chapters. If one prefers to take the express route, one can read the introductory and final chapters first and get straight to the business of diet and exercise. The Kindle edition is easy to use. Throughout the edition there are helpful links that allow the reader to jump forward and back between related matter (photos, graphs, etc) located in other parts of the book. If you've NEVER read Dr Darden before, a number of the concepts will seem radical - non-low-carb diet for losing weight, strength training as infrequently as once or twice per week, and no aerobic exercise to name a few. If you HAVE read Dr. Darden before, none of the content will seem all that radical, but rather a refinement and further development of what he has written in the past, based on what he's learned over the last few years. Even if you're in the latter camp, you'll learn some things. The results of Dr. Darden's trainees are truly exceptional. His study, involving scores of subjects, was conducted "in front of God and everybody" at a large fitness facility in Gainesville, FL. These are not the unverifiable results of a handful of subjects trained privately in an isolated facility somewhere. That, along with Dr. Darden's longstanding reputation for integrity, lead me to conclude that the results, though extraordinary, are true. The before-and-after photos and personal profiles are a great feature of the book. It really is fun to see how the people changed. A final thought - Do mainstream exercise methods have you working out every day, for hours every week? Do you find this is actually reducing your quality of life, taking time away from constructive pursuits such as improving you mind and restoring your spirit, or serving others? If so, the exercise paradigm presented in The Body Fat Breakthrough could REALLY impact your life, for the better. Get the book!

Winner.
Great book! Dr. Dardon writes about weight lose without trying to sell you something! I lost thirty pounds in five months using his weightlifting method. (much slower than the title suggests). Anyone can do it! The toughest part is getting family members on board to support your efforts. You'll find your spouse isn't interested in your success; in the end, I weighed just as much as my wife who is 8 inches shorter than myself.

I think this is a great program for novice bodybuilders but once you build strength
I was lifting weights for 3 years prior to trying negative training. I started this because I don't have much time and thought I could cut down the time in the gym. After 10 weeks I must say that I did not make any gains in my lifts. Quite on the contrary, on some exercises I went down considerably. I lost 6 lbs mostly because I had to increase cardio after I did not see any results after 4 weeks. I also find it hard to perform the exercises once I go heavier. Take for example bench press. I did 10 reps of 190 lbs prior to this program and started in July with 130 lbs for negative training. I found it impossible to go past the 145 lbs on negative training. The positive part of the exercises is very challenging. Maybe with a special trainer and machines that is possible but I found it very hard to get within 20% of my regular 10 rep weight max on any exercise. I think this is a great program for novice bodybuilders but once you build strength, i think you get better results with the regular sets and 8 to 12 reps for 4 to 6 sets. I will, however, incorporate negatives in my workout, especially the body weight one like hanging raises, pullups, and decline crunches as they seem to increase the workout intensity considerably while being at the same time doable.

Dr Ellington Darden , is one of the most knowledgeable, excercise scientists alive . His books are beautifully logical ,but backed up with legitimate testimony ,photos and measurements that his contemporaries lack .this is money well spent .

Very well explained and simple to put in to practice although like the author says it isn't easy. The upside is that it does work.
