Knock 'em Dead Job Interview: How to Turn Job Interviews Into Job Offers (Knock 'em Dead Career Book Series) [Yate CPC, Martin] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. Knock 'em Dead Job Interview: How to Turn Job Interviews Into Job Offers (Knock 'em Dead Career Book Series) Review: Highly Recommend - Recommended this book by a headhunter (job recruiter) and listened to the entire thing prior to going to an interview and it really did help! This has advice for outfits, body language, and even some ways to respond to those questions we never know what to say to. It helps you to think about your interview from every angle and I felt much more prepared. The interviewer gave me great feedback. I find out later this week if I got the job. Definitely recommend this for anyone job searching, interviewing, those getting back into the workforce or even those just starting out. Review: I love the Knock 'Em Dead series! - I'm retired now, but I bought this book for my daughter-in-law when she moaned about interviewing for jobs. It provides the reader with the psychology behind interviewing so that you understand what the interviewer is really asking and you're never caught without an answer. It's also full of great tips. I have an older version of this book that I marked up and used for years throughout my career for both being interviewed and interviewing candidates. The entire Knock 'Em Dead series is worth reading for the young professional and it's a great addition to your library. I can't tell you how many times I've loaned my books out to job seekers, but I thought my daughter-in-law needed her own copy to mark up and make it her own. Applying the wisdom in this book will increase your skills and transform your interviewing. It will definitely put you in front of other candidates who aren't as prepared. Happy job hunting!

A Must-Have for All Job Seekers
Martin Yate shares his years of HR and Headhunting experience in helping the job seeker better prepare for their next interview. The content includes an understanding in a companies hiring decision process, how to create a target job deconstruction (TJD) to better align your skill set to what employers are looking for, best practices for a successful phone interview, dress code for men/women, body language doโs and donโts while at the interview, a variety potential interview questions, proper follow up strategy, and negotiating the job offer. This past year I was looking for a new job and getting in person interviews, however, I wasnโt getting offers. I was frustrated but a friend recommended I read Knock โEm Dead Job Interview. After reading this book, I can honestly say I felt better prepared and confident in the answers I provided hiring managers which eventually led me to getting a job offer. A major benefit in the chapter of potential interview questions from employers, he gives brief descriptions thatโll help you understand what hiring managers are looking for in your answers. It also gives you a solid list of questions for you to ask the hiring manager which came in handy for me. My time with this book doesnโt just end since landing a new job. Itโs a tool I plan on using for years to come whether Iโm looking to grow within a company or move in a different direction. So what are you waiting for? Go pick up a copy and be better prepared to knock โem dead at your next interview.

Martin Yate is a Job Hunter's Guru
This is a great book and it's not for the shy or timid. Yates does a good job of giving you the hard core realities behind hiring decisions, career success and the granddaddy of them all 'Understanding What You're Selling and What Your Customers Are Buying' and my favorite 'Sealing the Deal'. After a three and a half hour face-to-face with department managers, I was home in bed when I realized I hadn't prepared a formal follow-up letter. I went over my notes (discussion points, names of managers, titles etc.) and fashioned a letter. I forgot to get individual emails so the next day I hand delivered thank you notes to the front desk for each manager. The hiring decision was to be made one week from the time I interviewed, but I received a phone call the next business day from the corporate recruiter with a great offer! For the first time in my life the job hunt was fun and satisfying!

Not that useful for a corporate/skilled job
Honestly, I expected a lot more from this book, but it seemed to lack the information I needed. I'm a recent college grad, but this book targets the middle class worker that does not have a college degree and probably never went to an interview before. I was looking for formatting my answers so I do not make up my answers on the spot in my interview, but this was not satisfied. Yes, It helped a little bit, but was not worth reading this book. To add onto that, the book overcomplicates interviews which should be a strategy to steer the conversation rather than looking at each question individually and trying to answer them.

I bought it for the negotiation part and it helped a lot. I recommend it to the ones having received a job offer and eager to maximize numbers (base salary and other compensations)

This ebook review in a complete way several topics to attend in interviews. Altough some advices are a little repetitive in two or three chapters themes are written with real life examples. I recommend this book for all those who want become succesfull or more brilliant at job interviews. Also for those interviewers for making the right questions and know the interpretation of answers.
