Review: I like the variety of information that can be found in this book. - This almanac is designed for children, but adults can enjoy it. I love looking at things I have never seen before. There is picture of a scorpion that is colored blue. There is another picture of a skyscraper made of straw that is designed to harness wind to make electricity. My other favorite picture is of the one eyed cat that surfs in Hawaii where I live. The pictures are enjoyable to look at, but there is also information that I can use in my work as a service provider in this almanac. There is great information about how to write an effective essay and how to give a good oral presentation. I do a lot of writing and speaking at work, so this information is very useful to me. I have heard the word namaste used all the time, and I finally learned that it means hello in the Hindi language. I love to eat ginger bread houses, and I will make one using the instructions in this book when I have some time. The different kinds of information in this book makes it enjoyable to read. Review: Great for curious kids wanting to learn more - My eight year old LOVES this almanac. She's curious about everything & loves learning so many facts. For the most part she can read most things on her own, there are a few things she still needs our help with reading or with a word here & there. Book is visually interesting & has great facts. Highly recommend.

Handy and engaging reference
A very handy resource on basic information as well as not-so-basic trivia. Interesting for adults to peruse but definitely worthwhile for kids. Go to a bookstore and brows through a copy. You may get hooked.

Beautiful great for encouraging reading.
We love this, my daughter just turned 7. This one of the gifts she received. It has beautiful pictures. It had nice short preices of information. She has been reading on her own and out loud to us when she finds something she thinks we will like. It's been great for vocab as well. Did I mention the pictures? Nat Geo nevet disapoints!

Best Birthday Gift
Our family loves these almanacs. Our kids will sit and read these for hours, and when you combine reading time with trips to the zoo, your kids will often surprise you with random facts. We give these to other kids for their birthdays, it’s our go-to gift, and we couldn’t recommend these more.

So informative!
My daughter loves it. TY. But is there a harder cover for it so that it will not be easily torn or folded?

My kiddo loves these books
I keep surprising my kiddo with these books. She re-reads these books throughout the year. She loves sitting down and picking it up and going back to look up information. She starting getting these at 7 and is now 9.

High interest level for all ages!
PROS: Everyone in the family loved the graphics and reading the descriptions! I purchased several of these books to gift several children (ages 6-11) in the family. They were big hits with the kids and their parents! CONS: none
