Been wearing for several months. Yes the watch has a solid feel. The body is thick. I have noticed several long sleeve shirts were the sleeve is snug over the watch. But so far no complaints

How long is the strap

It's a metal band. I'm sure if you needed links removed its a quick and easy process.
